Analysis of Covid-19 on FNS and technical support_Multi-country study

The FNS programme (of which this project is part) has developed an analysis tool to anticipate the impacts of Covid-19 and respective measures on food and nutrition security considering the multi-sectoral dimensions of nutrition, which – besides food insecurity – might be also affected by the Covid-19 crisis. It is envisaged to use this analysis tool to systematically assess the situation and adapt project implementation as needed to react to the Covid-19 crisis.

The Objectives of the consultancy support are to:

a)    undertake an analysis/systematic assessment of the expected impacts of Covid-19 on food and nutrition security (along the food systems dimensions – from field to belly) in 7 country packages (Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, Malawi, Ethiopia, India and Madagascar), especially in project regions, for the medium and long term. In addition to the direct effects of restrictions this assessment should consider medium- to longer-term impacts on the household economy and livelihoods;

b)    based on said analysis provide technical support to the CP upon request regarding the need to adapt their activities and approaches to the situation with the aim of achieving the programme’s objective despite the pandemic.
