#AGTInternational is proud to announce that has been selected by the #PacificCommunity (New Caledonia) as preferred provider to support the work of SPC FAME Division in the Pacific islands region.
The goal of the #Fisheries, #Aquaculture and #MarineEcosystems (FAME) Division of SPC is that the fisheries resources of the Pacific Islands Region are sustainably managed for #EconomicGrowth, #FoodSecurity and #EnvironmentalConservation. The FAME Division is divided into two Programmes, the #CoastalFisheriesProgramme (CFP) and the #OceanicFisheriesProgramme (OFP).

The first study is scheduled to start on the 1st of May 2021 and the consultant, under the Coastal Fisheries Program - Science, Management and Livelihoods Section (Coastal Fisheries), will develop a comparative study on the attribution of legal personality to elements of nature at the global level in order to provide decision-makers in Pacific Island Countries and Territories ( #PTIP) with an information tool in this field.

Our senior project manager #MarilynTorella will be responsible for the management of this contract.

In 2017, the #EuropeanUnion activated funds for the “ #APEFProject” (Aires Protégées et Écosystèmes Fragiles) in #Chad. An initiative that will last until 2023, to ensure "sustainable management of #naturalresources".
A major operation of #environmentalsustainability – protection of #wildanimals and the biodiversity of the area - in an #Africanregion where, for 25 years, the European Union has been committed to maintaining that balance so fragile and extremely important for the area and the #ecosystem of the #planet. In particular, the interventions are addressed in and around the #ZakoumaNationalPark.

#AGTInternational is pleased to announce that has been awarded the #EU funded project titled #MarketSurveillance Capacity Development - EuropeAid/140609/DH/SER/CY” in #NorthernCyprus. The contract value is of Euro 969,000.00 and has a duration of 24 months.

👉The overall aim is to advance the integration of the #TurkishCypriotcommunity (TCc) market with the EU single market and to enhance the business environment for the TCc economic operators. The purpose of this project is to facilitate the TCc to transition from a system fully based on pre-import permits to the market surveillance system in line with EU acquis. This should be done by strengthening the capacity of relevant market surveillance institutions in the selected non-food sectors, by developing market surveillance strategies and plans, by achieving coordination and cooperation between actors, by training product controllers, and by performing relevant awareness raising activities.

👉The operation was conducted by our senior project manager #LucaDelMonaco, who will be responsible for the management of the project.

#AGTInternational is pleased to announce that has been #awarded a new project in #Egypt titled “ICB No: 1/2019/ G107- Item No. 1- Supply of 20 #Agriculture #Tractors of 90 HP”. The project is funded by #IFAD and the purchaser is “Sustainable Agriculture Investments & Livelihoods (#SAIL)”, an agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (#MALR). The contract value is of USD 423,750. The project will commence in April 2021 and will have 200 days of implementation + 1 year of commercial warranty.

#GUATEMALA, LOCAL LABOUR AND TAILORING #COOPERATIVES REOPENED THEIR WORKFORSE AND #BUSINESS TO MANUFACTURE #HANDMADE #FACEMASKS FOR PROTECTION AGAINST #COVID19.

When Covid-19 becomes an opportunity for many local #artisans.
As was for tens of tailoring #cooperatives in Guatemala and thanks to funds provided by the #EuropeanUnion, and managed by the intervention of #AGTInternational. The project started in 2019, when even the spectre of the pandemic was yet to come.
The objective of the program launched by the EU is "to improve the competitiveness and trade capacity of #micro #small #medium #enterprises (MiPyMes) and cooperatives" in Guatemala. The contract involved the supply of #laboratoryequipment and #ITequipment (computer, tablet, etc.) through the #GuatemalanMinistryofEconomy.

#AQUACULTURE IN #UGANDA: TOWARDS A NEW #AQUAPARKMODEL IN #AFRICA
The Technical Assistance to the #EUfunded #PESCAproject in Uganda, “Promoting Commercial Aquaculture in Uganda”, is currently being implemented by #AGTS.p.A in consortium with the Maltese company AquaBioTech, with the support of international and national experts. The project started at the end of 2017 and is expected to end by the end of 2021.

EGYPT, A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL MECHANIZATION
The first phase in #Egypt of the #SAMSIMIFA project (Sustainable #AgriculturalMechanization System Improvement in Minya and Fayoum Governorates - Egypt), sponsored and funded by the #ItalianCooperation (AICS) through a grant of 10 million euros, and granted to the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (MALR), was successfully completed.

Within the scope of the #IFISHproject, Module 6 - T3. Mapping Fishing Data training was loaded to the IFISH #eLearning Platform. In IFISH Module 6: T3 training, basic information about the mapping of fishery data using R Statistical Programming Language and Computing Environment were prepared and sample applications were presented. At the end of the training, students can (1) understand basic statistical methods and apply using R, (2) understand concepts such as coordinate system, datum, projection system and transform between systems using R, (3) create maps in R environment, (4) learn visualizing fisheries data with different characteristics on the map, (5) understand geo-statistical models and applying simple interpolation techniques using R. #ifishproject
