Agriculture and Rural Development

AGT   is fully aware that food security interventions shall be addressed within the broader context of poverty alleviation and that any interventions must be integrated within agricultural, rural and socio-economic development. Through the various projects implemented, AGT  highly values awareness building in order for governments to understand and acknowledge how food security affects poverty. In this way, people are enabled to be engaged in food production, ensuring food security, overcoming the model of subsistence agriculture, and securing environmental sustainability.

In order to achieve such objectives, AGT ’s interventions focus on policy and institutional aspects, extension and advisory services, crop production and diversification, producer organisations and cooperatives, water resource management, soil and water conservation, irrigation schemes, farm income diversification, training and capacity building.
