IAFD – Lessons from the field: strategies for effective implementation of climate focused projects and enhancement of nutrition benefits

In the framework of the IFAD funded project “Lessons from the field: strategies for effective implementation of climate focused projects and enhancement of nutrition benefits”,  the project team lead by AGT organized and held a peer-to-peer event on 11 and 12 October 2022, with the presence of relevant stakeholders from IFAD and from five countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region (Nicaragua, República Dominicana, Brazil, El Salvador, and Argentina). Gerda Verburg, United Nations Assistant Secretary General and Coordinator of the SUN Movement, decided to stop by and participate to the discussions.

The event was very successful, and many interesting lessons were shared among participants. The project team will now be able to produce a tool-kit to  support and  guide IFAD  Staff  and  Consultants  on  the  successful implementation of climate financed projects and climate-focused activities to improve resilience of beneficiaries and enhancing any possible benefits on nutrition.

As a major take-away, the group created important links among the five countries, that will translate into more cooperation, more participatory actions, and more  sustainable project outputs in the field of nutrition, biodiversity, and climate change.
