MONTENEGRO – Improving administrative & inspection capacities of Directorate for Fisheries for policy development and implementation

We are thrilled to announce that #AGT has started a new project in Montenegro titled “Improving administrative & inspection capacities of Directorate for Fisheries for policy development and implementation”

The project is funded by the #European Union under the IPA III Program. The kick-off meeting was held on September 13 in Podgorica where were present the AGT team of experts, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Water Management – Fishery Directorate and the European Commission.

The overall objective of the assignment is as follows:

• To improve administrative and inspection capacities of the Directorate for Fisheries for policy development and implementation;
• To upgrade Fisheries Information System to be further harmonised with EU requirements;
• To ensure effective control, inspection and enforcement of the rules of the Common Fishery Policy.

The project will run for 24 months and the AGT Consortium will also include the German company #COFAD, #CIBM, (Centro Interuniversitario di Biologia marina) the #CIHEAM (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari) and the #Studio Lasso.

We at AGT are particularly proud to be able to support #Montenegro on its path to harmonization with the European Union for Chapter 13, dedicated to #fisheries.
