Special Actions for the Support of Agricultural and Livestock Production in Family Owned Farms
The main objectives of the programme, of which the beneficiaries are 10,000 smallholders’ families (about 40- 50,000 people in 50 villages in the Country), are: (i) a public demonstration of the engagement to support newly formed family farms by giving them the possibility of an immediate relaunch of production for autoconsumption and for the market; (ii) the introduction among small rural family groups of an associative pattern, experienced and spread at length in Italy; (iii) the adoption of modern technologies, duly dimensioned to meet the size of the farms and the family-supplied manpower; (iv) the development of productive patterns in various areas, to serve as demonstrative samples to farms in surrounding areas, and for the carrying out of extension programmes; (v) the creation of poles of development for a proper liaison between Research Institutes already in force in Albania and actual agricultural requirements; (vi) study of both methods and concrete possibilities for the introduction of a system of credit in agriculture
